About Me
Hello, my name is Jullian Gafar. I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and is now also living there. I spent most of my life here but I also have stayed in the United States for nine years to study at Modesto junior College in Modesto, California and later in San Jose State University in San Jose, California. Later, after finishing SJSU, I lived and worked in San Francisco for 2 years. I really enjoyed my time there in the states but decided for family and personal reasons to return back to Indonesia.
I am presently working in a company in Jakarta as a web developer working with various web-based technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Apache and other web technologies. It is actually quite funny that I chose to be engaged in this career path, but I realy enjoyed it and I think I might be pretty good with what I’m doing. I am planning to open my own Web Application Developer Company of my own someday, and I also have started some work as a freelancer back in San Francisco and here in Jakarta.
On a personal level, I am now in a relationship with an excellent woman named Tian who I love very much, and am hoping that this relationship would be the one. All signs that are around presently points to this direction, so I’m keeping my hopes high!
Just a Glance at Me
The factoid file of me is pretty basic, but I don’t think I’m a boring person. Actually, if you give me time, I think I can be quite an interesting source of entertainment for your spare leisure time, but like my friends said, don’t expect me to supply you with a wealth of jokes. Actually, when I tell jokes, most people laugh their asses off not because the jokes are funny, but because of how unfunny my jokes can be. In Indonesian, a person like me will be called “garing” which literally means extra crispy (I know it doesn’t make sense in English) so much so that I am also called the King of Garing.. (sigh…)
I can be quite a stubborn person, but that’s because I haven’t meet many people who can supply me with better arguments. If they can, I will wholeheartedly agree with their opinion. I am always interested with new challenges, and feel that there aren’t many challenges that will faze me. I am a very caring person to people who are close to me, but sometimes indifferent, even cruel to people who I dislike. I can be extremely annoying at times, but when given time can be very nice. I like to see more than to hear, I like to drive more than being driven, and all things being equal, I like cats more than dogs.
I enjoy computers, playing with programs or playing with games. Many of my friends have seen me in my natural habitat, which is under a table with a flashlight in my hand and tinkering with the insides of a computer case. I am my friends’ personal computer technician, and when I am in a bad mood, my favorite saying is “I am not going to fix your computer today!” I also love photography although I haven’t have much time lately for it. I enjoy a good book, but haven’t got time for it either. Most of all, I enjoyed food, sleep, and one other biological need that I’m not going to ention here. Most of all though, I enjoy interesting people.
I hate fake, dumb, selfish, and mean people. I think there should be a law against them. By dumb I do not mean people who have below average intelligence. I mean people who keep doing things that annoy the hell of other people and keep doing it even though they should know better. They are disgusting and I despise them. I hate people who abuse their power and push weaker people just because they can, and just because they have the authority. I do not mix well with people who keep pushing their agenda / beliefs / religion at me just because they believe it. They can never prove their belief to be correct, because once it can be proven it is true, it will cease to become a belief. And they will never understand this.
I know I’m ranting. i do have that tendency, don’t I? I’m going to stop doing it now, and I bid you good tidings.
